The short version
- AlphaMCP is a local-first tool. The catalogue and workspace can run on your machine; the hosted control plane is optional.
- Keep your workspace tokens and API keys secret. You are responsible for what you and your agents do with them.
- Review an agent's work, especially anything an approval step is about to put into production.
- Do not use the service to break the law, attack systems, evade limits or harm other people.
- Most skills come from other publishers and keep their own open licences. Your code and content remain yours.
- The service is provided as it is. Verify output before you rely on it.
Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and the individual who operates AlphaMCP ("AlphaMCP", "we", "us"). By downloading the desktop app, signing in to the website, creating a workspace, connecting an agent or using the MCP server, you agree to them.
If you use AlphaMCP for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to agree to these terms for it. You must be 18 or over. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
AlphaMCP is a native desktop instrument and an optional control plane for AI-assisted development. The desktop app holds the skill catalogue, routes a task, and keeps a workspace on your machine. The hosted workspace at mcp.avernic.com adds an account, a Project Contract, reviewed integrations, pipelines, run history, approvals, messages, team plans and sync with the desktop app. The MCP server exposes the same tool surface to an agent you choose.
Some features are local and work without an account. Features that need the hosted workspace, a paid plan, a third-party service or an installed sidecar are available only when those pieces are present. We may add, change or retire features as the product develops.
AlphaMCP is not a model provider. You connect it to an agent, model or other service that you choose, and that service's own terms and limits apply to it.
Accounts and tokens
The hosted workspace signs you in with Freebuff. We receive the account identifier and profile details Freebuff returns, such as your name, email address and picture. We never receive your password.
Workspace tokens let the desktop app call the hosted API. Treat a token like a password: keep it secret, do not paste it into a public page, a prompt or a commit, and revoke a token you think has leaked. You are responsible for everything done with your account and tokens, including what an AI agent does through them.
Give accurate account details and tell us promptly if you believe your account or a token has been compromised. One person or organisation should not share an account to avoid plan limits.
Plans and billing
The free tier and the paid plans shown on the pricing page have the limits described there. Paid plans are charged in US dollars at the price shown at checkout, plus any applicable taxes.
A paid plan renews automatically for the period you selected until you cancel it. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. Plan limits and prices may change, and we will give reasonable notice before a change affects a renewal.
Except where the law requires a refund, payments are non-refundable. If a payment is reversed or fails, we may suspend paid features until it is resolved.
Your content
You keep ownership of the code, prompts, contracts, project details, messages and other material you put into AlphaMCP. You give us permission to store, copy and process that material only as needed to provide the service to you, to keep it secure, and to comply with the law.
You are responsible for having the rights to the content you send and for what you do with anything the service returns. Do not send passwords, payment details, another person's sensitive personal data or material you are not allowed to share.
If you delete your account or a project, we will delete or anonymise the associated content as described in the Privacy Policy, except where we must keep a record for security, abuse prevention or the law.
Agents, skills and third parties
The skill catalogue is largely built from public, openly licensed repositories. Each skill records its publisher, source revision and licence, and that licence governs your use of the skill. Our own skills, pack groupings, rankings and build plans belong to us.
Skills are instructions, not guarantees. Automated review reduces bad instructions but does not make a third-party skill authoritative. Read what an agent is about to do, and do not follow a skill that tells it to ignore your rules, conceal a change or exfiltrate data.
When you connect Convio, a hosting provider, a database, a model provider or another service, that service's terms and privacy policy apply to it. We do not control it and are not responsible for its acts, availability or output.
Acceptable use
You must not use AlphaMCP, or let an agent use it, to:
- break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or harm, harass, threaten or deceive people;
- access, test or attack a system you do not own or have written permission to test, including ours;
- evade rate limits, spending limits, approval gates, suspensions or plan restrictions, including by creating extra accounts or tokens;
- copy, scrape or bulk-download the skill library, its rankings or our build plans to build a competing catalogue;
- send spam, run malware, mine cryptocurrency on our account, or store illegal or infringing material;
- upload other people's personal or sensitive data without a lawful basis;
- resell or sublicense access to the hosted service, or overload or disrupt it.
We may set technical limits to keep the service fast and fair. Do not work around them.
Local software and approvals
The desktop app runs on your machine and can start local processes, such as the Laya sidecar or the optional Companion. You choose whether to install and run them. You are responsible for the commands you approve and for any effect they have on your system, files and network.
An approval gate is a safety feature, not a substitute for review. A person still has to read the target, the action and the risk before production. We are not responsible for a deployment, deletion or other action you approve.
Updates may change the app, its local data format or its interfaces. Back up anything you cannot recreate. Open-source components remain subject to their own licences, including the MIT and Apache-2.0 licences used by parts of this project.
Ownership
AlphaMCP, its website, hosted service, its own skills, pack groupings, rankings, build plans, visual design and branding belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them except as these terms, an applicable open-source licence or the law allows.
Open-source code is governed by the licence shipped with it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that licence gives you.
Availability and change
The hosted workspace depends on services we do not control, including Cloudflare's hosting and Freebuff sign-in. We aim to keep it available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We may perform maintenance, change an interface or pause a feature.
The local part of the desktop app can keep working while the hosted workspace is unavailable, though sync, approvals and shared history will be stale until it returns.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using AlphaMCP at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend, restrict or close an account, revoke tokens, or block access if we reasonably believe it has broken these terms, puts the service or others at risk, or is required by law. Where it is safe and reasonable, we will tell you why.
A suspended account keeps its stored projects but cannot sign in or use its workspace tokens until an administrator restores it. Sections about content, ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law and any payment already due survive the end of your account.
No warranty
As far as the law allows, AlphaMCP is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that a skill or catalogue entry is accurate or suitable for your purpose, or that agent output will be correct. You are responsible for checking, testing and securing anything you build or deploy.
Nothing here excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Otherwise, as far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity. Our total liability for anything relating to AlphaMCP in any 12 months is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and £100.
If you are a consumer, you also have rights under the law of your country that these terms do not affect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as AlphaMCP changes. We will change the date at the top and, for a significant change, tell signed-in members before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after the change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using the service and ask us to delete your account.
